Brand's Heritage
In the late 1970’s, during a wine-buying trip for their hotel/casino, couple Rhonda and Don visited Sonoma County, California. The captivating landscape of the county greatly reminded them of the beautiful landscapes of Italy: They were in love. This marked the beginning of the Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery.
From a small, 30-acre plot of grapes to the present 24 estate vineyards in six different appellations, Don and Rhonda Carano's uncompromising commitment to quality is a reflection of their desire to produce memorable wines that enhance the pleasures of gracious entertaining, vintage after vintage. Today, Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery is a leading producer of world-class, nationally-acclaimed wines.
World-class Wine
Great admirers of European wines, Don and Rhonda Carano firmly believed in the separate vinification and subsequent blending small lots of wine from individual section of the any one vineyard that displays a set of characteristics different from one another. As proof, its Alexander Valley Chardonnay has never received less than a “90” rating from the Wine Spectator.
The Ferrari-Carano vineyard practices are customized to match the particular characteristics of each their vineyards. These help the vines produce the best fruit possible, and in turn, the best wine possible. To achieve this, they have continuously practiced sustainable farming techniques and are considered a leading industry standard. This has earned them the coveted Certifications: Certification of Fish Friendly Farming by the state of California and Certification of California Sustainable Vineyard.
